Single Cowns
Porcelain-bonded single crowns with a HELIOFORM® gold framework are ideal restorations. They are unsurpassed in terms of aesthetics, biocompatibility, accuracy of fit and durability and are an excellent alternative to standard metal crowns and all-porcelain systems. Numerous scientific studies confirm the positive features of electroformed crowns (see Bibliography).
Telescope crowns
In telescope crown work a HELIOFORM® secondary crown is the optimum connector between the primary crown and tertiary structure. The advantages are obvious:
- Unsurpassed accuracy of fit of the secondary unit on the primary unit
- Adhesive effect between the primary and secondary unit
- Abrasion-free insertion and removal
- Passive connection with the tertiary structure using the adhesive technique
- Greatly reduced working time when fabricating the secondary units
- Minimum weight of the secondary units (savings in precious metal costs)
Implant superstructures
The practical features of HELIOFORM® telescope crowns are also an advantage with implant superstructures.
Intermediary HELIOFORM® copings are compatible with all standard implant systems and provide the required passive fit of the finished restoration on the implant abutments. HELIOFORM® units have become an integral part of implant prosthetics for cement-retained, screw-retained or removable implant restorations.
Bridges
Short-span HELIOFORM® bridges provide an ideal means of combining modern electroforming with the tried and tested casting technique. Pontics cast in a bonding alloy are connected to HELIOFORM® abutment crowns by casting on directly, adhesion or welding. This allows the advantages of HELIOFORM® crowns at the prepared tooth and surrounding gingiva to be fully exploited with bridges.
Inlays
HELIOFORM® inlays combine the advantages of conventional cast inlays, e.g. cement retention and burnished margins, with the aesthetics of a porcelain inlay.
The minor works of art produced by dental technicians exhibit impressive marginal integrity, durability and biocompatibility.
Full denture bases
Fabricating full denture bases from Helioform gold is a simple, effective method for treating patients with an allergy to acrylics. The fine-gold base acts as an effective condensation barrier against the residual monomer content in the denture acrylic.
Periodontal splints
Periodontal splints fabricated from Helioform provide a practical, aesthetic appliance for the fixation and splinting of periodontally damaged teeth. The 0.4 mm thick electroformed splints are retained in position with the adhesive technique following silanisation.
