Social responsibility has always been an integral part of the C.HAFNER corporate philosophy and covers many aspects, both within the company and beyond. Whether social, cultural or regional – C.HAFNER supports charitable institutions, educational and social projects in a number of different ways. At all times, the focus is on people and the common good.
Responsibility for the development of junior staff and support of young goldsmiths and designers are part of C.HAFNER's corporate philosophy.
Furthermore, C.HAFNER supports the “Designer in Residence” scholarship programme as a silver sponsor. Every year, three scholarships in the fields of jewellery, fashion and product design are offered to national and international designers. The winners with the best ideas will receive fully equipped workstations at the EMMA creative centre for three months as well as financial support.
"Pforzheim revisited" is a cooperation project between Pforzheim University and the German Museum of Technology in Berlin. The aim of this project is to bring old goldsmithing techniques back to life and apply them to contemporary jewellery design. C.HAFNER has supported this venture with a six-month grant for students on an exchange programme between Pforzheim University and Berlin’s German Museum of Technology.
A special concern is the preservation and promotion of culture – especially in the region – as well as the preservation and transfer of old goldsmithing techniques. C.HAFNER is a long-time supporter of the culture house Osterfeld, the Jewellery Museum Pforzheim and the Jewellery and Watch Technical Museum.
We support the Earthbeat Foundation, which creates alternative and sustainable sources of income for regions dependent on small-scale gold mining. The aim is to create a future-oriented, sustainable and environmentally friendly use of gold as a raw material.
Doctors Without Borders helps to provide medical care to those in need and alleviate their suffering when local health structures are no longer functioning due to natural catastrophes or man-made disasters.
In the spirit of positive coexistence, and being aware that it is actively contributing to the strengthening of the region, C.HAFNER supports regional and local institutions in and around Wimsheim, e.g. the volunteer fire department, the police and the Federal Agency for Technical Relief.
“Goldstadt 250” (Gold City 250) was the motto under which Pforzheim celebrated the anniversary of the jewellery and watch industry in 2017. As one of the oldest companies in the city, C.HAFNER is still an important part of the Pforzheim jewellery industry and an internationally sought-after partner. C.HAFNER supported the anniversary activities as a silver sponsor.
